When was the last time you served the less fortunate?
If it's been a while (and even if it hasn't) why not join Element this Saturday for our September service project at Cottage Cove Urban Ministries?
We're gonna be doing some work on their playground.
Cottage Cove is a great after school educational, arts, and spirituality program for underprivileged kids in inner city Nashville. They are doing great work breaking cycles of poverty and trouble in the families of some awesome children.
Yesterday, the Element board of directors officially voted in the Bold As Love Initiative as our operating budget plan. If you didn't know, Bold as Love is our stab at "missional budgeting," and we are committing to giving 60% of all offerings away to those who in need. Every dollar given to Element results in 60 cents going right back out the door so we can love our neighbors more than we love ourselves.
Last night at Element we introduced Jason Haggard as our official Element worship director. Jason has been leading us in an "interim" capacity since our return to worship, but we are really excited about having him as our permanent worship leader. Since quitting life on the road and selling out to The Man, he's got a lot more time to slum around with a makeshift outfit like Element. And we're grateful.

A new Element message series beginning October 5.
We've got a couple of cool announcements to share this Sunday at Element. Don't miss out!
We're also continuing in our series on Ephesians 2, "The Supremacy of Christ," with a message called 'Christ With Us.'
This is good news to anyone hurting, doubting, confused, or otherwise living life.

Oddly enough, it's been kinda difficult figuring out how to help tangibly in relief efforts for areas affected by Hurricane Ike.
Element would like to donate bottled water or other tangible needs -- not just money.
Does anyone know of any church or charity or mission agency in the Nashville area collecting tangible goods for delivery to hurricane impacted areas?
We wanna give stuff. Just can't figure out where to do it.

We're breaking from regularly scheduled PRAXIS this Monday evening (the 15th) to eat dinner and catch a flick. Been a while since we've done this, huh?

"Burn After Reading" at Green Hills Regal Cinema at 9:45
Hope to see you at either or both!
Join us this Sunday evening for Part 2 in our series "The Supremacy of Christ," a look at the Gospel According to Paul in Ephesians 2.
Last week, in Part 1, we marveled at the gospel, learning about the difference it makes to have Christ In Us.
This week, in Part 2, I'm going to talk about authentic worship and what it means to have Christ Over Us.
Don't miss this important series!
